Cancer survivor receives standing ovation at the European Parliament

Victor Gîrbu, a 26-year-old lawyer and cancer survivor from Romania, spoke at the European Parliament's hemicycle on behalf of Youth Cancer Europe, at an event to launch the European Commission's Europe Beating Cancer Plan on February 4th 2020, coinciding with World Cancer Day. His powerful speech received a standing ovation from an audience that included Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission), Stella Kyriakides (European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety) and numerous cancer stakeholders.
